July 12, 2010: Yarmouth Port Resident Janet Weatherbe has been named to succeed Ro Morrissey as president of the board of directors of WE CAN and Pamela Marsh is the board's new vice president. More

 


West Dennis Yacht ClubJuly 20, 2010:  The West Dennis Yacht Club book club donates $3,900 to WE CAN. Their annual author's luncheon featured Lynn Bonasia, author of  Summer Shift and Some Assembly Required.  Pictured are Margie Springer, Toni Bailargeon, Andi Genser and Debbie Todd.  Our deepest thanks to all of the book club's hard work and for your generosity!

 


June 24, 2010:  Orleans Wine & Spirits donates $1,185 to WE CAN. At their Grand Tasting on June 18th, our good friends at OWS gave us a portion of their ticket price.  Many thanks to one of our most consistent community partners!

 


June 8, 2010:  American Women's Business Association (ABWA) Cape Cod Chapter generously donates $1,000 to WE CAN.  "We are thrilled with the ABWA donation and will put it to good use supporting the education of our partiicipants," says Andi Genser.  Half of the funds will be used for technology training, increasing essential for success in today's job market.  ABWA's mission is to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking, support and national recognition.

Andi Genser, Ro Morrissey and Glen RittMarch 11, 2010WE CAN was recently named one of six Legacy award winners.  Cape & Plymouth Business Magazine has inaugurated the Legacy Awards to recognize nonprofits and businesses that contribute to our economy. The awards recognize businesspeople or companies that significantly contribute time, expertise and financial support to a nonprofit organization or initiative; innovative and highly effective approaches to operating nonprofit organizations more productively; and nonprofits’ economic and financial success through best business practices and innovation. WE CAN is fortunate to have a board and advisors that bring their time and expertise to support our mission by helping us implement best business practices and ensuring we operate as efficiently as possible. 


March 22, 2010:  A forum on "The Child Care Challenge" is scheduled for Saturday, April 24, 9:30 am to 12 pm at the Harwich Community Center, 100 Oak Street.  The event is free and open to all members of the Cape Cod community.  More information. 


December 17, 2009:  We are thrilled to announce our 2010 Woman of the Year, Diane Rehm, celebrated Radio and Talk Show Host.  She will be honored on June 3, 2010.  Also Joining us for our annual
Words, Wit and wisdom event will be Wally Lamb, Anne Hood, Hank Phillippi Ryan and our own Anne D. LeClaire will emcee! 


December 3, 2009:  Our second annual "Celebrate the Season" event was great fun--our thanks to the
Harvest Gallery Wine Bar in Dennis Village.  


October 29, 2009:  Our Un-Halloween Party was lots of fun!  A BIG THANK YOU to author Thomas H. Cook, Tracy Volkswagen and the Sea View and chef Paul McCormick for their generosity.
