Harwich native Jane Teixeira-Henry has worked on senior staffs in administrative positions at Otis Air Force Base, the United Nations, private industry, and the U.S. Congress. Her congressional positions were with U.S. Senator Harrison Williams (NJ) and U.S. Representative Charles Diggs (MI).
In 1974, Jane helped organize and then managed the administrative staff of the Budget Committee, U.S. House of Representatives, for its first six chairmen.
After retiring in the Washington DC area for 16 years, she and her husband Colonel George A. Henry, Jr., returned to Cape Cod where they opened the B&B, Inn of Treasured Memories now entering its fifth year.
In Washington, DC and Cape Cod, Jane has volunteered for the Cape Verde Embassy; Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum; DC Goodwill Industries; and WE CAN. Board memberships include Maryland and Prince George’s County chapters of the NAACP, League of Women Voters Cape Cod Area, Wellfleet’s Highland Center, and the Community Development Partnership.
Jane is committed to supporting the mission and vision of WE CAN to benefit women and their families – and the whole Cape community.
