We are delighted to announce that WE CAN’s Board of Directors has chosen Dianne Gauthier to be WE CAN’s new Executive Director. She succeeds Andi Genser, who will retire later this year.
A native of Cape Cod and longtime resident, Dianne comes to WE CAN with deep experience in and passion for empowering girls and women. For more than a decade, she held leadership positions with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, defining and implementing the vision and strategy for member retention, training and development, and other key aspects of the organization, which serves 35,000 girls and 15,000 adult volunteers. More recently, she served as a Development Consultant, including for the Lower Cape Outreach Council.
Dianne brings not only her non-profit experience but a strong belief in the mission of WE CAN and a desire to ensure that the organization’s unique services are available to all Cape women undergoing major life transitions and challenges.
Dianne holds a BS in Business Management from Babson College. She lives in Marston Mills with her husband and children.
“I am honored to join WE CAN as the new executive director. I am greatly inspired by WE CAN’s mission and extraordinary programming. WE CAN’s staff and dedicated volunteers have been empowering women across Cape Cod for over a decade and I look forward to building on that momentum and strength.”
WE CAN Board President Pam Kukla said, “The WE CAN board and staff – and Andi – are excited to have Dianne begin to lead our organization. In addition to her considerable operational and development experience, she has been part of the Cape community for many years, and has a deep understanding of WE CAN core values, including collaboration with other Cape non-profits.”
In keeping with WE CAN’s value of the importance of transitions, Andi and Dianne will be working together beginning February 26 and Andi will remain through June 15.
Over the next few months, there will be many opportunities for you to meet this extraordinary woman as she begins to take on her new role. We know you’ll feel as strongly as we do that Dianne will be a real champion for WE CAN and the Cape women that we serve.
