WE CAN Brings Legal Services to the Outer Cape

WE CAN, the organization dedicated to empowering Cape Cod women to achieve lasting positive change for themselves and their families, today announced that the organization will offer free and confidential, 30-minute family law and landlord/tenant legal consultations with a volunteer attorney at four convenient locations on the Outer Cape.  The monthly sessions will serve low to moderate income participants in their communities. Free legal consults spread throughout the Outer Cape will improve access and decrease transportation costs and time for women seeking these services.

The legal consults on the Outer Cape will be held on the second Friday of each month, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM, beginning in January 2019 thanks to attorneys Dan Kilkenny and Kristen Rufo.  In collaboration with the following organizations, the sessions will rotate through the following four locations on a monthly basis: Veterans Memorial Community Center in Provincetown; the Truro Council on Aging; the Wellfleet Council on Aging; Cape Cod Children’s Place in Eastham.  Those seeking legal advice regarding any aspect of family law (divorce in MA; division of assets and debts; alimony and child support guidelines and custody; grandparents’ rights), or landlord tenant law, are encouraged to attend by calling WE CAN for an appointment.  The WE CAN legal services are funded in part by the MA Bar Foundation (IOLTA) and the Cape and Islands United Way.
