WE CAN Program Director, Elisa Wilson, Receives Excellence in Field Instruction Award from BU

Elisa Wilson, the Program Director at WE CAN, was presented the Excellence in Field Instruction Award by the Boston University (BU) School of Social Work Field Education Department in recognition of exemplary supervision of social work interns, May 2019. From her most recent intern, Ashley Hallman, “I cannot think of anyone that deserves this acknowledgment more. I can honestly say she is one of the most extraordinary social workers and people I have ever met. Elisa saw me as a colleague and gave me space to share ideas which led me to piloting and co-facilitating a new support group for moms going through divorce.” And from the BU Cape Cod Campus Director, “Elisa is kind, caring, professional, an advocate for those who need one, and a champion for those who simply need space and encouragement. Elisa has been our go-to person for students who have both clinical and macro interests, and for those who are passionate about helping others in non-traditional settings.”
Congratulations Elisa! Through Elisa’s leadership, WE CAN has hosted two BU social work interns for eight month periods.
