Marina Mendoza-Burris Named Senior Program Manager

We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Marina Mendoza-Burris to Senior Program Manager at WE CAN!

Marina joined WE CAN in 2017, bringing with her a deep commitment to community and a professional background rooted in service. Originally from Sonora, Mexico, Marina earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Sonora and worked as a social worker in Hermosillo before moving to the United States. After two years in Boston, she relocated to Cape Cod, where she continued to serve her community—first through teaching Spanish language classes and running an online retail business, and then through her impactful work at WE CAN.

Over the past several years, Marina has managed our Work Support and GROW programs with heart, dedication, and excellence. In her new role as Senior Program Manager, she now oversees all of WE CAN’s one-to-one services, including legal, financial, work support, and business support programs. Her leadership and compassion have made a lasting difference in the lives of so many women we serve.

“Marina brings empathy, cultural insight, and a quiet strength to everything she does,” says Executive Director Lisa Guyon. “Her promotion reflects not only her skill and professionalism, but also the trust and admiration she has earned from staff, volunteers, and program participants alike.”

Marina lives in Brewster with her husband, three children, and their dog, Lolly. When she’s not at WE CAN, you can find her cheering from the sidelines at basketball or baseball games, supporting gymnastics meets, or enjoying everything Cape Cod has to offer families.
