Welcome Kimberly

Updated: Oct 4, 2022

We are so happy to welcome Kimberly Hamblin to WE CAN in the newly created position of Participant Engagement Coordinator. In this role, Kim helps to shape the participant's overall experience with WE CAN through listening, offering program access, and providing support to meet the needs of participants.

This position deepens engagement for our participants by not only coordinating access to programs, but also identifying trends, and by following through with individual participants to ensure their needs were met. This follow-up, which was provided at WE CAN on an ad hoc basis in the past, is now an integral part of our services - thanks to Kim. Her natural empathy and caring professionalism, and her passion to help others make her the perfect fit at WE CAN.

Kim received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Fullerton and her master’s degree in clinical social work from Boston University. Her social work training helps her provide a safe and open space for participants to share their stories. And when a woman needs a service outside of what WE CAN is able to offer, Kim provides a warm hand off to another community organization and follows up to ensure a solid connection was made.

Beth Bowman, WE CAN's Assistant Director says, “Kim is an amazing asset to our team. She brings this great energy to WE CAN which really shines through when I see her work with participants. She really cares about each woman she speaks to and she wants to see them get what they need to navigate whatever challenging situation they are in right now”

This organization does a great job with shared leadership, and working here really feels like being part of a team. It can be challenging work, but it's very rewarding to see how these services actually do help people. – Kimberly Hamblin

A native Cape Codder, Kim currently resides in West Barnstable with her husband Paul, and her dog Boone and cat Max. Kim left Cape Cod to attend college but was very happy to return to her true home, where she can be near to her family and the beaches she loves. Now that she is working at WE CAN, she appreciates the way the staff supports one another. "This organization does a great job with shared leadership, and working here really feels like being part of a team." Kim says she is also impressed to see the mission of empowering women put into action. "It can be challenging work, but it's very rewarding to see how these services actually do help people."
