WE CAN is a nonprofit organization started in 2001 for women on Cape Cod. We provide a supportive environment in which Cape women can find the assistance they need to turn their lives around.

WE CAN is dedicated to assisting Cape Cod women going through the difficult transition of       divorce, career change or growth, job loss, illness, or retirement.  WE CAN assists unemployed        and underemployed women - often single mothers who have suffered a debilitating divorce or          loss, an abusive relationship, a severe illness, a life-changing transition, or a job loss - who         struggle to sustain their families. Whether their situation is acute or chronic, WE CAN will help.

If you are a woman experiencing a difficult life transition, WE CAN may be able to help you. Call or come in.

An overview of our Programs:

WE CAN's SIGNATURE PROGRAMS:
Options: The Options program helps women in difficult life or career transitions. We can help you find a fulfilling career, learn about steps in a divorce, or find the right referral. For careers, we assess skills, interests, and values, and provide information about potential jobs. We also provide information about salaries and required training, and assist with educational programs, resumes, job applications, and financial aid forms. For divorce, we can assist you with a "Divorce Boot Camp" CD.  We maintain a comprehensive referral network to help women identify crisis funding resources for housing, childcare, legal advice, and transportation.
Offered through the generosity of individuals and businesses.

Pathmakers: WE CAN's mentoring program offers support for women with similar concerns. Each person is assigned a mentor, and everyone gathers monthly for discussions and presentations.
Offered through the generosity of individuals and grants from Bank of America and Eastern Bank.

Legal Clinics: WE CAN offers free legal clinics every month. You may call to sign up for a 30-minute session with an attorney. You can ask questions about divorce and child support, wills and estate planning, landlord-tenant problems, a consumer problem, mediating a domestic relations dispute, immigration, or any other legal concern.
Sponsored by the Massachusetts Bar Foundation with the help of 18 generous attorneys.

Workshops: WE CAN sponsors workshops on careers, financial management, the divorce process, computers, and women's health.  We also are interested in hearing from you if you wish to volunteer to facilitate a workshop.

Computer Classes:  Perfect for women with little or no computer knowledge!
Do you need help with very basic computer skills? Each WE CAN class has five or fewer students. We train you individually in basic computing. There is no cost for the six-week session.  Registration is required. To learn more or to register, call 508.430.8111.

Sample topics previously covered: Basic Word & Excel Applications, some Microsoft Publisher & PowerPoint, Internet Browsing, using Reference and Hyperlink sources, Bookmarks, and Graphic Attachments to e-mail. Topics may change based on students' requests and their readiness as determined by the teacher.
